Any full-blown war between NATO and Russia would end in a nuclear wasteland, and distant America would not be spared as it was in the last world war.
While Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has enjoyed great success in cajoling Western countries to contribute a vast amount of military hardware to support Kiev’s fight against Russia, there is one precious commodity he must provide for himself: manpower. The NATO-bloc countries can send Ukraine all of the military equipment at its disposal, but if there are no qualified personnel to operate the sophisticated machinery the massive contributions will be of no avail. And make no mistake: Ukraine is bleeding troops faster than they can replace them. Last month, Russia President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine’s counteroffensive against Russian forces had so far failed and the Ukrainian army had suffered heavy losses of 71,000 men in the three-month-long attacks. Even the Western media does not dispute that figure. That’s an astonishing death toll that does little to encourage Ukrainian patriots to rush to their local recruitment office to enlist on behalf of their beleaguered country. In fact, with Kiev unable to conceal news of the disastrous battlefield results, the only way to get fresh recruits has been to grab men off the street in broad daylight.

Russian forces have gained more territory in Ukraine this year than the Ukrainian side despite the Ukrainian counteroffensive that was launched in June, The New York Times reported on Thursday. The report noted that despite nine months of heavy fighting in Ukraine, only about 500 square miles of territory have changed hands this year. Russia has gained 331 square miles while Ukraine has gained 143, a difference of 188, which amounts to Russia’s net gain in territory so far this year. Most of the fighting in the first half of the year focused around the Donbas city of Bakhmut, which Russia fully captured in May after a brutal battle that started in August 2022. Ukraine’s counteroffensive has focused on the south, but fighting has continued near Bakhmut and across the entire eastern front. The Times quoted Marina Miron, a postdoctoral researcher in war studies at King’s College London, who said Russia appears to be comfortable holding the territory it currently controls rather than seeking rapid gains. “It’s not losing anything by not moving forward,” Miron said. “The whole strategy in Ukraine is for the Russians to let the Ukrainians run against those defenses, kill as many as possible, and destroy as much Western equipment as possible.”

The greater the inefficiency and the higher the failure rate, the fatter the budgets and profits. Consider the permit process: the longer it takes, the more revisions and hoops the applicant must go through and the higher the late fees and penalties for non-compliance, the fatter the budget of the agency and the fatter the compensation of the administrative staff. Inefficiency is more profitable than efficiency.

Well, who knows? It takes two to tango, and we don’t really know whether Boy Gavin or Kama Sutra are inclined to tango. But, supposing that they did tango, what would that do to presidential politics? The problem for the Dems has always been that, while they’re increasingly desperate to dump Zhou, they’re deathly afraid of putting Kama Sutra in the Oval Office. Wouldn’t her resignation to take a spot in the senate solve that problem? Not really. As indicated above, there are multiple plausible ways that Zhou could be removed, at this point. If Kama Sutra did step down to take the senate gig, what would happen in the eventuality of the office of POTUS becoming vacant? The VP is in line to become POTUS in that case. But the office of VP would also be vacant, so that means Speaker Kevin would become POTUS by action of the Constitution. Now, you might say, as many do—despite my cautions—that the Dems would simply slip one of their own into the vacant VP slot as soon as Kama Sutra stepped down. Sorry. It doesn’t work that way. A VP vacancy can only be filled via a majority vote of both houses of Congress. Look it up. And there’s no requirement that the vacancy actually be filled on any sort of timeline. The Republicans have the whip hand here.

It’s funny how much empire apologia in the 2020s consists of westerners saying that governments who aren’t aligned with the United States shouldn’t have the security concerns they have and shouldn’t regard their national interests the way they do. Armchair proxy warriors against Russia defend the NATO expansionism which led to the war in Ukraine by saying that Russia should simply not have taken issue with a western military alliance amassing war machinery on its doorstep. If you bring up the fact that a great many western analysts spent a great many years warning that the actions of NATO powers after the fall of the USSR was going to provoke Russia into war, their only argument is to say that Russia should not have been provoked by those actions.

Budapest will block further EU aid to Ukraine if Kiev doesn’t account for the money it has already received from Brussels since the start of the conflict with Russia, a senior Hungarian government official has said. “There are many technical ways to finance Ukraine and also help in the humanitarian field,” said Gergely Gulyas, the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office. He told a briefing on Thursday that Hungary had no objections to individual EU countries providing assistance to Kiev. He said unanimity would be required regarding any changes to the EU budget, however, which is currently “on the table for amendment.” Budapest will make sure that Ukraine “will not receive a single penny of new aid” if it can’t account for the funds it has already been given by the EU, Gulyas insisted. In June, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen requested an increase of €66 billion ($69.9 billion) for the EU’s long-term budget, which includes €17 billion (around $18 billion) for providing grants for Ukraine.

BUDAPEST (Sputnik) – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has indicated that some of the EU funds that Brussels is supposed to allocate to Budapest may already have been transferred to Kiev. The European Union froze over €6 billion designated for Hungary last September due to alleged political concerns. However, Hungarian PM Orban insists that Hungary has met all the EU’s requirements and that the funds were rather used to back the Kiev regime. “It is possible that some of it [the money] is already in Ukraine. If there is no money to give Ukraine the sums promised before, and we promise to give new sums, and there are people who haven’t received the money, it is reasonable to assume that this money is already gone. We don’t know for sure because Brussels is not clear about it,” Orban said on a Hungarian radio station.

Oldest Footprints Of Pre-Humans Identified In Crete (October 11, 2021)
The oldest known footprints of pre-humans were found on the Mediterranean island of Crete and are at least six million years old, says an international team of researchers from Germany, Sweden, Greece, Egypt and England, led by Tübingen scientists Uwe Kirscher and Madelaine Böhme of the Senckenberg Center for Human Evolution and Palaeoenvironment at the University of Tübingen. Their study has been published in the journal Scientific Reports. The footprints from fossilized beach sediments were found near the west Cretan village of Trachilos and published in 2017. Using geophysical and micropaleontological methods, researchers have now dated them to 6.05 million years before the present day, making them the oldest direct evidence of a human-like foot used for walking. “The tracks are almost 2.5 million years older than the tracks attributed to Australopithecus afarensis (Lucy) from Laetoli in Tanzania,” Uwe Kirscher says. This puts the Trachilos footprints at the same age as the fossils of the upright-walking Orrorin tugenensis from Kenya. Finds connected with this biped include femurs, but there are no foot bones or footprints.

The governor used language straight from the United Nations World Health Organization in an attempt to shut down the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, referring to gun violence as a “public health emergency.” But the sheriff there moved quickly and decisively to denounce the governor’s edict as fraudulently based on a concept antithetical to U.S. law which he refused to enforce. I have been a vocal opponent of America’s stupid proxy war against Russia in Ukraine from Day Number One. The Russia/Ukraine conflict is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS. Had Joe Biden not committed the Pentagon and U.S. military/industrial complex to help Ukraine fight its hopeless war, this conflict would have been over in a couple of months and hundreds of thousands of lives (mostly Ukrainian) would have been spared. But, of course, Joe Biden couldn’t let that happen. Biden has too many skeletons hidden in Ukrainian closets. Biden doesn’t give a hoot in hell about what the impact of anything he does has on the people of the United States—or on the people of Ukraine, for that matter. We’ve been taught that assumptions are bad. They make an “ass” out of “u” and “me”. But, that’s not always true. I developed a set of assumptions about the future to build a framework of understanding. I use that framework to identify what IS in my control and what is NOT in my control. The things outside our control, we can stop worrying about. They’re not up to us. Instead, our concern is what IS in our control and all our energy and resources should be dedicated there. Before I get to the assumptions I’m operating under. Let me say – They are assumptions not predictions. I could be wrong. Hell – I hope I’m wrong. But with nearly three years of the “Great Reset” under our belt, I bet you’ll agree – they have merit. None of this should be taken as a blackpill. The other day when I wrote that “life in America has never been more unaffordable than it is right now”, some people thought that I was exaggerating. But the truth is that I was not exaggerating one bit. The cost of living has risen to extremely painful levels, and this is particularly true when it comes to housing. Since 2019, the median price of a home in the United States has risen by more than $100,000. And thanks to the Federal Reserve, we are now facing dramatically higher interest rates. As a result, housing has become extraordinarily unaffordable. In fact, a new report that was just released determined that homes are currently “unaffordable” in 99 percent of U.S. counties…
