And Threatening To Kick Officials Out Of Meeting When They Defied Him And Stood To Recite It
Silverton Mayor Shane Fuhrman announced the ban at a Board of Trustees meeting last week. He said the move was in response to ‘direct and indirect threats and inappropriate comments in and out of public meetings’. Fuhrman did not elaborate on the nature of the threats or comments. Attendees reacted to the announcement by standing up and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance before Fuhrman threatened to kick them out. Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert shared a video of the incident on Twitter, calling it an ‘anti-American disgrace’.
