More and more society around us resembles a synthetic confection of passionless artifice. Everywhere you look, our reality is manipulated with all the modern tricks of the trade, straight off the innovation line. AI has yet to sport its first coat of paint, and it’s already being put through its paces in fashioning a Potemkin reality around us to keep the moldering real one from showing its liver spots. Though I don’t usually bother with such normie podcasts, Peter Thiel made a good point in his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan show. He remarked that society’s progress has arguably been regressing since the 1970s, and that most technological advancement has been poured into a narrow ‘cone’ of digital tech exclusively, to the great neglect of everything else. He cited the Concord supersonic passenger jet as an example of a luxury people had to cross the ocean at unparalleled speeds which we now not only can’t do, but our travel dynamics have been made even worse with the advent of the TSA and the hyper-managerialized airline industry. I have made this point myself for many years, after discovering an odd paradox about modern society. It occurred to me that often, despite the lauded ‘advancements’ around us, the quality of our experience often gets worse. For instance, cell phones are extremely advanced computers in our hand, and yet their audio quality when speaking to someone is often far worse than old analog landlines. The phone is better at being everything other than a phone; calls often drop out, or there’s endless static, noise, and lagged delays that make communication difficult.

In effect, it was ‘theatre’ mounted by both sides: By limiting their 20 minute strike to within 5 kms of the border – and by Hizbullah staying within the ‘equations’ of war – both sides signalled plainly to each other they were not looking for all-out war. The ‘winner narrative’ from Israel was to be expected in today’s psy-war atmosphere. Yet it comes at a cost: Amos Harel in Haaretz suggests that “there’s a tendency in Israel [as a result] to view the success in foiling Sunday’s attack as renewed evidence of the consolidation of regional deterrence and [of western] strategic supremacy. But such an assessment” he concedes, “appears to be far from accurate”. Indeed it is (far from accurate). The Sunday theatre concluded with no change to the strategic situation in the north of Israel: Daily attrition continues from across the frontier of Lebanon, down to the new 40 km border defining the extent of Israel’s loss of territory to the Hizbullah no-go zone.

Iran Urges Elimination Of Atomic Weapons, End To Nuclear Tests
Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva has called on the international community to work towards ending nuclear tests and eliminating atomic weapons.
Ali Bahreini made the remarks in an X post on Thursday, on the occasion of the International Day against Nuclear Tests. “Nuclear testing is a threat to our planet and future generations,” he said. “On the International Day against Nuclear Tests, let’s pledge to protect our world by advocating for a complete end to nuclear tests and total elimination of NWs,” he added, referring to nuclear weapons. “Each nuclear explosion is a step backward in the journey towards a world free of nuclear weapons. Today, more than ever, we need a global commitment to the complete elimination of nuclear weapons,” Bahreini wrote in a separate post on X in Persian. In 2009, the UN General Assembly declared August 29 the International Day against Nuclear Tests by unanimously adopting Resolution 64/35. The document calls for increasing awareness and education “about the effects of nuclear weapon test explosions or any other nuclear explosions and the need for their cessation as one of the means of achieving the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world.”

As the presidential race enters the final stretch, politicians are recycling the usual cons to make people believe this election will be different. At last week’s Democratic National Convention, sham idealism had a starring role, accompanied by ritual denunciations of cynicism. But idealism has a worse record in Washington than a New Jersey senator. “Idealism is going to save the world,” President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed shortly after World War I left much of Europe in ruins and paved the way for communist and Nazi takeovers. Wilson’s blather provoked H.L. Mencken to declare that Americans were tired “of a steady diet of white protestations and black acts…they sicken of an idealism that is oblique, confusing, dishonest, and ferocious.” The same verdict could characterize today’s political rogues. On the closing night of the convention, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg promised that “we will choose a better politics, a politics that calls us to our better selves.” And how can Americans know they are fulfilling their “better selves”? By swallowing without caviling any hogwash proclaimed by their rulers in Washington. Kamala Harris is being touted for bringing idealism back into fashion after the supposedly tawdry Trump era. But we heard the same song-and-dance with Barack Obama.

August 29, 1949: The Day America’s Monopoly On Nuclear Weapons Came To An End
75 years ago today, the USSR tested its first atomic weapon, becoming the second country in the world after the United States to master the fearsome technology. Sputnik explores the Soviet atomic bomb’s development, its military and geopolitical significance, and some of the long-held myths surrounding the project.
Armed with an explosive yield equivalent to about 22 kt of TNT, the 4.7-ton RDS-1 used in the test was a combat-ready weapon designed to be dropped from a Tupolev Tu-4 strategic bomber. About 30 RDS-1s were produced by the mid-1950s after the successful August 29, 1949 test. The test ended America’s nuclear monopoly, adding much-needed balance in international politics, reining in American and European imperialism, preventing the Cold War from going hot, and ultimately, providing modern Russia with a guaranteed capability to respond to large-scale military aggression. Towards the end of the Second World War, Moscow “realized that the [nuclear] threat that initially came from Germany was turning into a threat from our erstwhile ally, the United States,” Dr. Lev Ryabev, the former chief of the USSR’s nuclear industry from 1986-1989, told Sputnik. “The Americans understood that they were in possession of an ‘absolute weapon’ through which they would be able to dictate any conditions to the world.”

The Mother Of All Housing Bubbles
America’s bubblicious economy will soon hit another milestone of sorts—-the $50 trillion mark with respect to the market value of owner-occupied residential real estate. At the present moment, this figure (purple line) stands at $46 trillion (Q1 2024), which is nearly 2X its pre-crisis level of $24 trillion in Q4 2006. It’s also 8X its level when Greenspan took the helm at the Fed ($5.6 trillion) after Q2 1987 and a staggering 51X the $900 billion value of all owner-occupied homes when Tricky Dick did the dirty deed at Camp David in August 1971. Needless to say, neither household incomes nor the overall US economy have grown at anything near those magnitudes. For instance, nominal GDP is up by 24X or less than half the gain in housing values since Q2 1971. As a consequence, the value of owner-occupied housing relative to GDP has climbed steadily higher over the last 50 years: Market-Value of Owner-Occupied Housing As % of GDP Since 1971: Q2 1971: 79%. Q2 1987: 117%. Q4 2006: 172%. Q1 2024: 175%. Here’s the thing. The US economy was downright healthy in 1971. During the 18 years between 1953 and 1971 real median family income rose from $38,400 to $62,700 or by a robust 2.8% per annum. So the fact that residential housing represented only 79% of GDP at that point was not indicative of some grave deficiency or structural malfunction in the US economy.

Iodine deficiency in the first years of life leads to what is known as cretinism, an extreme form of intelligence reduction or mental underdevelopment. According to an article published in 2017, more than 300 million children worldwide are not developing to their full mental potential due to iodine deficiency alone. Overall, this results in an average global IQ loss of ten to fifteen points, according to estimates from further studies. Iodine deficiency affects nearly 2 billion people worldwide and is the leading preventable cause of intellectual disabilities. The RDA for iodine is 150 mcg/day, but this only prevents goiter and extreme deficiency, not optimal health. The average Japanese person consumes 13.8 mg/day. Iodine levels in the U.S. have dropped 50% since the 1970s, as breast cancer rates have risen from 1 in 20 women to 1 in 8 women. About 97% of people tested by Dr. Brownstein were severely iodine deficient, including 88% of women with fibrocystic breast disease. Every cell in the body has receptors for iodine and requires it to function, especially the thyroid, breasts, ovaries, prostate and brain. Toxins like bromide and fluoride, which are ubiquitous in our environment in things like fire retardants and baked goods, block iodine absorption and worsen deficiency. According to Dr. Flechas, in 1928 only 23% of people had fibrocystic breast changes at autopsy, but by 1973 it was 89%, suggesting increasing iodine deficiency. The iodine loading test found that women with breast cancer excreted only half as much iodine as healthy women, suggesting more deficiency. Iodine deficiency in pregnancy can lower a child’s IQ by up to 15 points. Iodine is crucial for fetal brain development. Experts like Dr. Brownstein routinely dose patients with 12.5-50 mg/day of iodine (over 80-300 times the RDA) to achieve optimal iodine levels. Iodine is extremely safe at these doses.

Israeli Army Sets Up New Position To Control Gaza ‘For Years To Come’: Report
The position will be assumed by Israeli officer Elad Goren and will deal with ‘day-to-day’ civilian and security matters in Gaza
The Israeli army is planning to establish a new position within its ranks aimed at overseeing long-term control over the Gaza Strip, Hebrew news site Ynet reported on 29 August. The decision comes “in the absence of clear strategic goals for the future of the Gaza Strip,” the Hebrew outlet wrote. “The Israeli army began yesterday through this appointment to accept the fact that its responsibility for the Strip will continue for years and will expand, and about two million Palestinians will remain under its responsibility,” the report added. Israeli officer Elad Goren has been chosen for this appointment, Ynet revealed. Goren is a veteran of the Defense Ministry unit, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT).According to Ynet, he will take up the same role in Gaza as the head of COGAT’s West Bank branch, Israeli General Hisham Ibrahim. “This new position is not for show … It will have an important role for years to come … Anyone who believes that Israeli control and intervention in the Gaza Strip will end soon, whether by stopping or not stopping the fighting and its decline, or even with or without a deal, is mistaken,” a senior security official told the outlet. The report explains that Goren will deal with daily logistical issues such as humanitarian aid deliveries, repairing destroyed infrastructure, and contacting international aid organizations. He will also lead long-term civilian evacuation in order to “maintain international legitimacy” to continue fighting in Gaza “without witnessing a humanitarian crisis or famine.”

US, Russian Deputy Envoys Have Heated Exchange At UN Security Council Over Gaza Ceasefire
The deputy representatives of the US and Russian missions to the United Nations engaged in an argument at the UN Security Council meeting over which of their countries is doing a better job at trying to resolve the conflict in Gaza, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
“I don’t need to sit here and explain to you why the US did what it did with regard to these resolutions. You know quite well and I think everybody in this room does,” US Deputy Envoy Robert Wood said in response to his Russian counterpart Dmitry Polyanskiy. The Russian diplomat remarked earlier that the United States has been blocking a ceasefire in Gaza by supporting Israel and vetoing UN Security Council resolutions concerning the Palestinian enclave. “One delegation, shielding their main Middle Eastern ally, as we are well aware, for ten months has been blocking any real steps to that end, essentially compelling all members of this council to become complicit in the collective punishment of Palestinians,” Polyanskiy said, adding that the US falsely claimed that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire deal. “However, it turned out – and no one is surprised about this- that these calls were far from a reality as was the US so-called Biden-plan which was [adopted by the Security Council on June 10 as Resolution 2735],” Polyanskiy continued. “Israel did not agree to that deal then, nor has it agreed now to end its operations… [The US is] modifying the parameters for a ceasefire in Gaza for the benefit of Western Jerusalem. Let us recall that the Security Council did not consent to any reformatting of the parameters of agreements that were set out in Resolution 2735.”

How so much debt is eventually written off is the most important financial story of our era. It is a story in which gold is likely to play a leading role. But not many people want to think about it.
Gold will tell the tale. Not just about the economy and the stock market… but about the world we live in, too. The Feds can manipulate the stock market… and the bond market. They can ‘print’ as much money as they want. They can lend it to themselves at whatever rate they want. They can tell all the lies they want too… and pass out their dollars all over town. But they can’t control how much each dollar is worth. Which is where gold comes in. Gold now trades at five times more than it did twenty years ago… and nearly ten times what it cost in 1999. And the Dow? Less than four times what it was in 1999. We’ve been mostly out of stocks the whole time. Arguably, we’ve failed to profit from the ‘greatest economy ever,’ under Donald Trump, and the ‘best economy in the world,’ of Joe Biden. And we’ve missed the ‘most powerful bull market in Wall Street history.’ But we’ve still come out ahead. How could that be possible? There’s more to the story, isn’t there… something is going on that is deeper than the stock market and more important than Wall Street. We keep score in gold. It is ancient. And universal. It tells us what is really going on. Yes, it is subject to panic attacks and mood swings too. But it can’t be readily fiddled by the feds. Now over 41,000, the Dow is at an all-time high. But so is gold. At $2,500 it takes 16 ounces of gold to buy the Dow. Six years ago, it took 21 ounces… 24 years ago you would have needed more than 40 ounces to buy the Dow. In other words, investors think stocks are going up… but they’ve actually been going down for the last quarter of a century.

The Government Will Stop You Leaving
During the final years of Sunak’s communist government in Britain, immigrants were flooding into the country in their millions. Most came looking for free money, free housing and free everything else. The cost of looking after them put a huge strain on the nation’s already creaking public services. And as the immigrants poured in, so hard working, tax paying Britons left the country in huge numbers. This is going to be an even bigger problem with Starmer’s communist government. Immigrants will pour into Britain in even larger numbers and hard working taxpayers will be queuing up to leave. The problem is that just 1% of the workforce pays 29% of the taxes. When that 1% leaves, Starmer and Co will be trying to run a country with 29% less money. And they will introduce drastic measures. In order to stop hard working tax payers from leaving the country I suspect that the Labour Government will bring in tough new laws to restrict movement abroad. And they will, I suspect, introduce laws limiting the amount of their own money that emigrants can take with them. Curiously, restrictions of this type have been tried before. In 1718, laws were passed to restrict the outflow of artisans and their tools and to protect the country’s advantages in textile production. By 1749, anyone caught exporting textile manufacturing tools could be fined £200. Agents seeking to recruit technicians for emigration to America could be imprisoned for twelve months and fined £500 for each violation. Any skilled textile worker attempting to leave Britain could be arrested on sight.

Human Oversight Of AI Systems May Not Be As Effective As We Think — Especially When It Comes To Warfare
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more powerful – even being used in warfare – there’s an urgent need for governments, tech companies and international bodies to ensure it’s safe. And a common thread in most agreements on AI safety is a need for human oversight of the technology. In theory, humans can operate as safeguards against misuse and potential hallucinations (where AI generates incorrect information). This could involve, for example, a human reviewing content that the technology generates (its outputs). However, there are inherent challenges to the idea of humans acting as a effective check on computer systems, as a growing body of research and several real-life examples of military use of AI demonstrate. Across the efforts thus far to create regulations for AI, many already contain language promoting human oversight and involvement. For instance, the EU’s AI act stipulates that high-risk AI systems – for example those already in use that automatically identify people using biometric technology such as a retina scanner – need to be separately verified and confirmed by at least two humans who possess the necessary competence, training and authority. In the military arena, the importance of human oversight was recognised by the UK government in its February 2024 response to a parliamentary report on AI in weapon systems. The report emphasises “meaningful human control” through the provision of appropriate training for the humans. It also stresses the notion of human accountability and says that decision making in actions by, for instance, armed aerial drones, cannot be shifted to machines.

St. Teresa Of Avila Found To Be Still Incorrupt After More Than 400 Years
‘Today the tomb of Saint Teresa was opened, and we have verified that it is in the same condition as when it was last opened in 1914,’ Marco Chiesa, the general postulator of the Order of Discalced Carmelites, declared.
The more than 400-year-old body of St. Teresa of Avila has been discovered to still be incorrupt after being exhumed for the first time since 1914. On August 28, researchers opened St. Teresa of Avila’s coffin for the first time in 110 years, to find that her body remains incorrupt, according to Marco Chiesa, the general postulator of the Order of Discalced Carmelites. “Today the tomb of Saint Teresa was opened, and we have verified that it is in the same condition as when it was last opened in 1914,” Chiesa stated. “The uncovered parts, which are the face and foot, are the same as they were in 1914,” he continued. “There is no color, no skin color, because the skin is mummified, but you can see it, especially in the middle of the face. It looks good. The medical experts, they can almost see Teresa’s face clearly.” The purpose of exhuming her body was to confirm that it had remained incorrupt since 1914, when her tomb was last opened. The Carmelite nun and Doctor of the Church was first discovered to be incorrupt in 1585, after her death in 1582.

China’s Average Life Expectancy Hits Record High Of 78.6 Years: NHC [While The United States’ Keeps Falling]
China’s average life expectancy has reached 78.6 years, the maternal mortality ratio has dropped to 15.1 per 100,000 and the infant mortality ratio has dropped to 4.5 per 1,000. These achievements are the best on record, according to the National Health Commission of China (NHC) in a Thursday announcement. The national health authority on Thursday released the 2023 statistical bulletin on the development of the country’s health service. The statistics show that the health level of the people has continued to improve, and high-quality development of health care industry has made new progress, the authority confirmed. The bulletin shows that as of the end of 2023, the total number of medical and health institutions nationwide was 1,070,785, an increase of 37,867 from the previous year, including 38,355 hospitals, an increase of 1,379 from the previous year. The total number of hospital beds nationwide was 10.174 million, an increase of 424,000 from the previous year. In 2023, there were 7.23 beds per 1,000 people in medical and health institutions. The total number of health technical personnel nationwide was 12.488 million, an increase of 830,000 from the previous year, including 7.723 million health technical personnel in hospitals.

Friendly Fire Fiasco: Ukrainian Army Shoots Down Its Own F16 Jet, Pilot Killed
It appears that the US-made F-16 fighter jet, which was handed over to Ukraine earlier this year, was downed by a Ukrainian Patriot air defense system in a friendly fire incident, Ukrainian lawmaker Maryana Bezuglaya said cited by TASS. “According to my information, the F-16 of the Ukrainian pilot Alexey ‘Moonfish’ Mes was shot down by the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system due to a lack of coordination between the [military] units,” she wrote on Telegram. The lawmaker criticized the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for falsely describing the incident as “a crash.” “The culture of lies in the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as in other higher military headquarters, leads to the fact that the system of managing military decisions does not improve on the basis of truthful, consistently collected analytics, but deteriorates and even collapses, as is happening in the other directions,” she wrote. In her words, none of the generals was punished over the incident that led to the loss of both the aircraft and its pilot. Earlier, an unidentified US official told the Wall Street Journal that Ukraine had lost a donated F-16 fighter jet in the first such case. According to the official, the jet was not shot down, and the crash was likely due to pilot error. Later, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the death of a Ukrainian F-16 pilot, Alexey Mes. The man was trained to fly F-16, according to CNN. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said the pilot was killed in an aerial fight, when his plane crashed on August 26.

British-Palestinian Surgeon Vindicated After Medical Council Rejects Israel Lobby Complaint
British-Palestinian surgeon Dr Ghassan Abu-Sittah was vindicated this week after a complaint by a notorious pro-Israel lobby group was rejected by the General Medical Council. UK Lawyers for Israel sought to have the distinguished plastic and reconstructive surgeon suspended and banned from practising medicine. The so-called “lawfare” organisation is widely known for filing vexatious complaints and litigation to silence critics of Israel and its apartheid policies. The lobby group was behind a complaint to remove art work by children from Gaza which was on display at a London hospital. In another case, UKLFI was slapped down by the chairman of an English football club for allegedly threatening behaviour. UKLFI claimed that alleged social media posts by Abu-Sittah impaired his fitness to practise medicine and sought for his medical licence to be suspended. This smear is said to have been designed to bring Abu-Sittah’s distinguished reputation into disrepute, and undermine his prominent profile as a public figure in the British Palestinian community. It also sought to undermine Abu-Sittah’s rights to freedom of expression. Dr Abu-Sittah is known for his humanitarian work in conflict zones, particularly Gaza. He argued that the complaint was politically motivated. He clarified that he was not the author of several posts in question, while others had been translated inaccurately. The tribunal expressed concern over UKLFI’s inability to provide verified translations of the Arabic language posts.

Backyard Privacy In The Age Of Drones
Police departments and law enforcement agencies are increasingly collecting personal information using drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition to high-resolution photographic and video cameras, police drones may be equipped with myriad spying payloads, such as live-video transmitters, thermal imaging, heat sensors, mapping technology, automated license plate readers, cell site simulators, cell phone signal interceptors and other technologies. Captured data can later be scrutinized with backend software tools like license plate readers and face recognition technology. There have even been proposals for law enforcement to attach lethal and less-lethal weapons to drones and robots. Over the past decade or so, police drone use has dramatically expanded. The Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Atlas of Surveillance lists more than 1500 law enforcement agencies across the US that have been reported to employ drones. The result is that backyards, which are part of the constitutionally protected curtilage of a home, are frequently being captured, either intentionally or incidentally. In grappling with the legal implications of this phenomenon, we are confronted by a pair of U.S. Supreme Court cases from the 1980s: California v. Ciraolo and Florida v. Riley. There, the Supreme Court ruled that warrantless aerial surveillance conducted by law enforcement in low-flying manned aircrafts did not violate the Fourth Amendment because there was no reasonable expectation of privacy from what was visible from the sky.

That’s not going to “get better.” The trends we see will only continue to grow in the direction we don’t want, towards more authoritarianism and less personal liberty. Look around the world; Trudeau’s authoritarian chic in Canada, England’s medieval crackdown on White protesters, and France, where Macron and his much older, seeming man/wife see to it that Le Pen and her followers remain out of power. Ironically, the only place that seems more free than it was fifty years ago would be Russia, under the leadership of the much demonized Putin. Russia is rebuilding churches. And banning GMO products. Putting out arrest warrants for Rothschilds. Paying people to have babies. He’s “a threat to democracy.”

Zanuta: A Story Of Return
On Wednesday, August 21, following a long overdue court order, the families of Zanuta, in Masafer Yatta, returned to their village for the first time in 10 months after being forcibly displaced, determined to rebuild their home from the rubble of their village that remained. Families returning to Zanuta. At the end of October 2023, the residents of Zanuta were told by settlers that if they didn’t leave in 24 hours, they would kill every last one of them. All of the residents of Zanuta – who had already been enduring unending violence from these settlers, from making it impossible to shepherd, to property damage, to physical attacks, to home invasions and assault – were forcibly displaced from their land and homes. On Wednesday, the families and flocks returned to their land. Palestinians triumphantly drove their flocks over their land and camped out in the ruins of their homes and propped up the destroyed roof of the school using pieces of scrap metal. After families left Zanuta in October, settlers came into the village and removed the rooves of the buildings. It was winter, so this meant it was impossible for the families to return. In November, they briefly went back to try to work their land. When they tried to rebuild the rooves, they were stopped by army who said that it was unauthorised building. Later on settlers returned to destroy everything. The homes and school had their walls and contents destroyed. Trees were cut down and solar panels destroyed. While they would not allow Palestinians to return and tend to their lands, the settlers ploughed the land themselves. Plowing Palestinian land while making it impossible to return to is a legal tactic used by settlers to increase their “claim” to the land under Israeli law.

Integrative Approaches For Cancer

One of the most common requests I receive from readers is to discuss treatments for cancer. This in turn speaks to a broader issue-despite there being an immense interest in holistic cancer treatments, very few resources exist for patients looking for these options. That’s because it’s been well known for decades within the integrative medical field that the fastest way to lose your medical license is to practice unapproved cancer therapies and over the decades, countless examples have been made of doctors who did so (which sadly go far beyond even what we saw throughout COVID-19). Note: I’ve also come across numerous cases where a distant relative learned of an alternative or complementary cancer treatment provided to their relative by a doctor, was triggered by it (due to their pre-existing political viewpoints) and then was able to get sanctions directed against the doctor. Most integrative doctors are aware of this and hence often decline to treat patients they are very close to that they know would wholeheartedly support what the doctor is doing because the doctor cannot take the risk of a hostile relative. In turn, most of the doctors I know who utilize integrative cancer therapies (and have success in treating cancer) only offer this service to longtime patients they have a very close relationship with and explicitly request for me to not send patients to them. This is a shame, because beyond integrative cancer care being almost completely inaccessible to patients, this underground atmosphere both prevents most physicians from being able to have large enough patient volumes to clearly understand which alternative therapies actually work.

With online data at a premium today for the Big Tech oligarchs who want to build their huge AI databases with your information, along with very concerning increases in cyber hacking where anything you share online can be hacked in somebody’s database, one needs to take special care to protect their personal data and privacy. I have found PC Magazine to be a great resource in giving advice on how to protect your data and privacy. And all of their articles are for free, with no paywall. In an article recently published by PCMag.com, Neil J. Rubenking reported how anyone with a cell phone passing by your home can pick up your router’s Wifi ID, revealing your location, which can then be stored in Big Tech databases at companies such as Google and Apple. Of course if you find their instructions on how to configure your router’s Wifi too difficult, you can just turn it off altogether and only connect via an Ethernet cable (which is what I do). That will also reduce EMF radiation pollution in your home. PCMag.com also just recently published an article about how to use the Internet more anonymously: “How to Completely Disappear From the Internet.”

Since most voters are so dumb it’s a miracle that they can even fill out their ballot, and since they wouldn’t understand the issues even if politicians were honest about them, most presidential campaigns amount to little more than flagrantly deceptive PR blitzes. From now until November 5, both parties’ marketing gurus will struggle to make the candidates and their families “relatable” and “likeable.” It matters not that anyone who’s climbed high enough up the ladder to become a major party’s candidate, as well as their families, enjoy lives that are utterly incomprehensible to the roaring majority of Americans—voters must be duped into thinking that politicians “get them” and are “just like us.” In late July, when Joe Biden wandered off the plantation in a stupor, Democratic strategists were tasked with making Kamala Harris likeable. That’s no mean feat! Then they faced the unenviable specter of wrangling Tim Walz, that squealing albino pig from the heartland, into a creature less weird and more normal than everyone knows he is. I don’t know how they’re going to convincingly sell Doug Emhoff—who is currently America’s Second Gentleman—to the public. But I can’t fault them for trying. It’s their job.

US State Advocates Using Gender-Neutral Family Terms
People should stop calling children ‘son’ and ‘daughter’ to promote “health equity,” according to the Vermont Department of Health
The Vermont Department of Health (VDH) published advice encouraging parents in the northeastern US state to use the words ‘child’ or ‘kid’ when referring to their children, because the terms ‘son’ and ‘daughter’ are not “inclusive” enough. The guidance was included in a social media post about inclusive language for families on Wednesday. The post also suggested using the term “family members” rather than “household members” to include incarcerated individuals, step-siblings, and others who might not live in the house. “The language we use matters!” the health agency wrote in the post. “Many families and students are getting ready for the new school year. Equity in the classroom is an essential piece of a productive and healthy learning environment,” it added. The VDH also argued that it’s important to use terms that cover different forms of family. According to the health agency, the words ‘child’ and ‘kid’ are gender-neutral and can describe a child who may not be someone’s legal son or daughter. It recommended saying “family” rather than “extended family” because grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins are often “important parts of a core family unit.” The VDH said the post was intended to “encourage using inclusive language when you don’t know someone’s family situation,” which is especially important in classrooms, afterschool programs, and sports teams.

To create green hydrogen, you pass electricity that’s been generated from renewable resources between two pieces of metal in water. This causes oxygen and hydrogen gases to be released. The problem with this process is that it currently requires a lot of electricity and the metals used are rare and expensive. Researchers are searching for the right alloy, or combination of metals, that would act as a catalyst to make this reaction more efficient and affordable. Traditionally, this search would involve trial and error in the lab, but when you are trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack, this approach takes too much time. “We’re talking about hundreds of millions or billions of alloy candidates, and one of them could be the right answer,” said Jehad Abed. He was part of a team that developed a computer program to significantly speed up this search.

It was about 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 29, 1981, and I was standing near the back of the first-floor bar at the famous Manhattan after-hours club, AM-PM. Interestingly, I was at the same spot where, a few months earlier, I met and talked with John Belushi. I was standing by myself having a drink when someone walking into the club caught my eye. As he walked toward me, I perceived a radiant whitish aura around this young man. Intrigued, I stepped back a few steps to intercept his path. When he was directly in front of me, I said to him there’s something special about you. Who are you? He momentarily stopped, and we looked at each other face to face. But he didn’t say a word. As he walked away, it was only then that I noticed the entourage with him.
