Finnish newsreel report on Adolf Hitler’s one-day visit to Finland on June 4, 1942, on the occasion of the 75th birthday of Carl Gustav Mannerheim, Finland’s premier military commander. After the arrival of Hitler’s Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor airplane at an airfield, President Risto Ryti greets the German leader. Not shown here is the meeting of Hitler, Mannerheim and Ryti, together with prime minister Rangell, over lunch in a railroad dining car, where they talked at length. Also, Mannerheim is shown with Hitler as he shakes hands with Finnish and German military officers. This report concludes with displays of the German and Finnish flags – an expression of the alliance of the two nations in their common struggle against the USSR. With some Finnish-language narration.
