Here is a report with the details:
The Greenwood Park Mall shooter was identified as 20-year-old Jonathan Sapirman on Monday. He shot and killed a married couple, Pedro Pineda, 56, and Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, 37, as well as Victor Gomez, 30, on Sunday, before being gunned down by a good Samaritan.
Sapirman, of Greenwood, entered the mall at 4.54pm and proceeded to enter a food court bathroom. He stayed in the bathroom for about an hour before leaving and shooting into the crowd. Police believe he spent the time in the bathroom assembling the Sig Sauer AR-15-style rifle he used in the attack.
He fired 24 rounds in two minutes before he was stopped by an armed shopper. Sapirman killed three people and injured at least two others.
The married couple were sitting and eating at the food court when Sapirman opened fire. Gomez was standing outside the food court bathroom. Two more bystanders were wounded by shrapnel from the gunshots, including a 12-year-old girl.
The good Samaritan who shot and killed Sapirman has been identified as 22-year-old Elisjsha Dicken.
Police praised Dicken’s actions.
‘Many more people would have died last night if not for a responsible armed citizen,’ said Greenwood police Chief James Ison.
Police recovered two rifles and more than 100 rounds of ammunition at the scene. Sapirman also had a Glock handgun on him when he was shot.
Can you believe that a mainstream media news report (in the UK, no less) called the armed citizen who doubtless prevented another massacre a “good Samaritan”? Wow! Apparently even some of the brain-dead useful idiots in the media are beginning to figure this out.
Think about it: One 22-year-old armed citizen in Indiana was able to do in less than two minutes what over one hundred professional law enforcement officers in Texas were unable to do in over an hour: namely, take down a single would-be mass killer and save the lives of countless numbers of innocent people.
Of course, wanna-be tyrants on the Left are mad that this young man single-handedly prevented a monstrous tragedy. They much prefer that mass shooters succeed in their devilish desires to kill lots of people. They are not interested in saving lives; they are only interested in promoting the success of their tyrannical gun-grabbing agenda.
They are even madder that some in the media are calling the young hero a “good Samaritan.” Some of them even have the gall to condemn the hero for carrying a firearm in light of a company policy prohibiting guns in the mall. Yep! The mall was another gun-free zone—albeit the prohibition was mere company policy, not governmental law. Of course, it doesn’t seem to bother the gun Nazis that the shooter also violated mall policy.
Those of us who make it a daily practice to carry a gun know to never submit to a corporate policy against carrying a concealed weapon within those places of business. If the gun is noticed and we are asked to leave, we will leave. But everyone in that Indiana mall—including the executives and employees at the mall—are surely glad that the 22-year-old hero ignored mall policy and took his gun with him.
(No, I do not carry a firearm in places prohibited by law; but I only go into such places when it cannot be avoided—which is why I choose to live in a gun-friendly State where such places are limited.)
At this point, anyone who hasn’t gotten the message as to why America has a Second Amendment protecting the right of the people to keep and bear arms is probably incapable of objective reasoning and beyond hope of ever figuring it out. But by now, most people have figured it out, and they have already purchased and practiced with their own defensive firearm, or they are in the process of doing so.
And why people choose to stay in cities and states that deny them their Natural right of self-defense is beyond me.
Ladies and gentlemen, no public place is safe. And the greater the density of people located within a confined space, the greater the attraction to the demonic would-be mass killers to strike that location—especially if it’s a gun-free zone.
Obviously, concerts, theaters, shopping malls, large retail stores, congested pedestrian areas, schools, hospitals, large waiting areas, busy restaurants and large churches are prime targets. And without debate, large population centers (big cities) are MUCH more vulnerable to this kind of mass violence than are small rural communities.
I STRONGLY urge readers to have at least the following two firearms in their possession: 1) a handgun, and 2) an AR-15 rifle. (AR stands for Armalite Rifle NOT Assault Rifle.)
There is not a healthy lady of any size who cannot learn to comfortably shoot an AR-15 rifle. The rifles are short, lightweight and produce almost no felt recoil. For the vast majority of people—including women and the elderly—there is no finer defensive rifle made. That’s why the AR-15 is the most popular rifle in America.
Buy a quality AR-15 rifle. I’m sure you have family and friends that can help guide you through the process. And then learn how to use it. If you are like most people, you will really enjoy it. It’s actually quite a bit of fun.
Next, you need a good handgun. My everyday carry gun is a Glock 19 pistol. Firearm aficionados will argue till doomsday over which gun is best to carry. You don’t need to get caught up in any of that.
Here’s the important factor: Get a gun that you can comfortably carry with you every day. A gun that is too big or heavy for you to carry every day is NOT the gun you need. Buy a gun you can comfortably carry with you every day and a gun that you can shoot well.
If the gun is so uncomfortable to shoot that you dread pulling the trigger, the chances are you wouldn’t hit anything even if you did fire it. You need a gun that you can comfortably manage. Your age, the size of your body frame, your overall physical condition and the size, strength and dexterity of your hands and fingers are more important than the size of your gun.
Most ladies with petite body frames today are probably carrying small .380 semi-autos or small snub-nose .38 revolvers. Either of those calibers is certainly adequate for self-defense. Other women are able to carry and handle the smaller 9mms. But remember: The key to self-defense is having a gun ON YOUR PERSON. A gun in the car is of little use when you’re in the mall.
And understand this: What counts most in a gun fight is where you put the bullet, not what kind of bullet you use. That’s why you need a handgun that you can handle well.
Again, I’m sure you have friends or family who are familiar with handguns who can help guide you through the process.
Twenty-two-year-old Elisjsha Dicken accepted his responsibility as a citizen in a free society to lawfully arm himself, practice using his firearm and be psychologically and spiritually prepared to use his firearm in defense of himself and his fellow Hoosiers. And he single-handedly saved the lives of dozens or scores of them.
If Dicken had waited for police to arrive and take out the madman, no telling how long it would have taken and how many people would have died—including him. In Texas, it took over an HOUR for cops to do anything and 21 people died—19 of them being little boys and girls.
Folks, freedom—not to mention safety—requires that each of us be an Elisjsha Dicken.
One armed citizen did in two minutes what one hundred cops couldn’t do in over an hour: stop a mass killing.
